Hi Jinx!

Well, we finally did it. We opened our hearts and home to a beautiful little girl who needed us. Meet Jinx, our full of personality DSH feline family member.

I’ve always wanted a black panther. It’s my mom’s fault. Growing up, that was something she consistently said she’d love to have. After all, who would dare mess with a woman walking a black panther down the street? Logically, I know I can’t have one. It’s not feasible, not safe, and not cheap! What I can have is a beautiful black cat who seems to have no qualms about being my miniature black panther. Hey, it’s my story. I can tell it any way I want!

Jinx came to live with us on July 6th, after spending some time at Fix Ur Pet in Canonsburg. She was surrendered by a family that was moving and couldn’t take her along. Their loss, our gain. A very dear friend of mine said she’d be perfect for us, and she is. It took her a few days to get used to her new home, but already I can’t imagine life without her.

My daughter and I brought Jinx home from the vet in her favorite basket. It’s small, but she loves to snuggle herself into it. Thank goodness for those gorgeous eyes! It’s hard to find her when she’s hiding. She’s a night owl, staying up all night and demanding attention, then sleeping the day away in her basket or cuddled on/under her favorite blanket.

I love that she perks up when I get home from work. She jumps up on the couch and makes it abundantly clear that she needs attention. Nothing brings a smile to my face and peace to my soul like a purring kitty on my lap. I’ve missed that so much these past few years. When my cat, Austin, passed away, I didn’t think I’d ever find another who could hold a candle to him. For the better part of 17 years, he was my best friend, my therapist, my cuddle buddy, and my source of peace and calm. In the past week, Jinx has already shown me that she’s up to the task.

I’ve no doubt that there will be many more stories of Jinx to come. Fear not, darling daughter, I’ll still write about you too! I know how you love the attention. ❤️🖤
