For the past eighteen and a half years or so, my life has been all about the precious angels God trusted to my care. My son and daughter are, without a doubt, the greatest gifts I’ve ever received. I am blessed to have been given the opportunity to be their mom. And let’s be clear…they may be graduating high school tomorrow, but they will always be my babies.
This week has been full of emotions for the graduating class of 2022 and their families. My Facebook feed has been overrun with first and last day of school pictures and posts from parents lamenting the impending end of high school. I’m not immune to these moments of reminiscing, but my focus isn’t on graduation as the end. Instead, I choose to see tomorrow’s commencement for what it is…the beginning of a new chapter in the story of our lives.
I took tomorrow off from work to celebrate, and celebrate we shall!! Having twins isn’t all sunshine and matching outfits. There were plenty of nights when I collapsed into bed praying that we’d all make it to their tenth birthday! Life may not be perfect, but it’s perfectly ours. We’ve had our ups and downs, to be sure, but we did it!! Tomorrow we celebrate eighteen years of learning and growing. We celebrate the end of one adventure and the beginning of the next. The world is theirs for the taking. To be cliché, their future is so bright, they gotta wear shades 😎☀️
I’m so very proud of my kiddos. They were incredible children who’ve grown into incredible young adults. I can’t wait to see where the journey takes them next. No matter where life takes them, this will always be home. I hope they take risks, go exploring, and live life to the fullest. Most of all, I hope they will always know just how much I love them, and what a blessing they are to everyone lucky enough to know them.
Congratulations my favorite daughter and son! I love you more than lots 💙🤍
